����� ������ s we all know patriotism can be expressed in many different
ways.� Millionaires do it by
giving away money or people playing the �Who Wants to be a
Millionaire� game show and giving that money to a patriotic fund.� People show it by doing community service.� Even an infant could show patriotism by simply wearing a flag
streamer across their chest that says �God Bless America� or even
simpler just wear a shirt with the flag on it.� On of the most interesting cases of this happen in a club called �WE
LOVE AMERICA�.� This club
started right after the sorrowful September 11 tragedies had
happened.� � Some of the things they did
where publishing in the newspaper, creating objects for
a structure for the remembrance September 11, and much, much
more.� We witnessed one
of these happenings at a school.� The club members stood in a pattern and where wearing
velvet uniforms.� Then
they started passing out flyers that said they where collecting
money and clothing to help several September 11th
funds.� They also went in the
streets to pass out the flyers.� The final way they sent the flyers was publishing an ad about
it in the local newspaper.� After a week one million dollars was collected and they
had collected several other clothing items such as
mittens, shoes, socks, shirt, pants, etc.� Just a day later the principal of the school, Mayor, & local
Police Department found out that the club members where doing this
without a permit.� The
kids then found that out and got a permit.� We asked them, �What did you first think when you found out that the
principal of the school, Mayor, & local Police Department where
going to get you in trouble because of you collecting without a
permit?�� They answered,
�We first thought that they would mess us up for good.� Our first reaction to it was a sag in the shoulders along with
a sigh.� When we had to get a
permit there was an obligation that you had to right an
essay about what it is your doing.� That took almost forever.�� With all the effort they raised over two
million dollars.� With
that money they helped furnish homeless shelters in New York
and gave money to other September 11th funds.� Perhaps without the club members our world would be different.
